Clare Gets Baptized

On her one month birthday, Clare was baptized in Axtell at St. Michael's Catholic Church.  We chose to have her baptized in Axtell for a couple of different reasons, but mainly so all of the family - including Clare's great-grandparents - could be involved.  It was also neat because she was baptized in the same church that Tony and I were married in just over 4 years ago. 

The ceremony was great!  Sara and Nate are Clare's godparents, so they stood up with us during the whole thing.  The other great thing was that all of Clare's grandparents and great-grandparents who are still with us were able to be a part of it with the exception of her great-grandpa Don and that really meant a lot.  After the big event, Mema and Papa hosted a lunch at their house and all of the family got together for the afternoon.  It was such a special day - and even though Clare won't remember it, we will remember how much fun it was!  Check out some of the pictures below.  The dress Clare is wearing is the same one that I was baptized in long ago.

One other picture I just have to add in this post is one of Aubrey and Clare.  Aubrey, Clare's cousin who is just one year old seems to have really taken a liking to her.  A lot of time was spent this weekend with Aubrey playing with and talking to her baby cousin.  This cute picture is just one example of this!
